Two coastal districts, Hua Hin and Chaam, have been designated for upgrade into a special administrative zone, designed as a pilot project for sustainable development to mark the 84th Birthday of His Majesty in December.
The Interior Minister will next Tuesday seek the Cabinet approval to merge the two districts under the special administration.
Hua Hin, the location of Klaikangwon Palace, is presently under the provincial jurisdiction of Prachaub Khiri Khan while Chaam is in Phetchaburi province.
The special administration of Hua Hin and Chaam is expected to enhance the development of tourism and to streamline the management of royallyinitiated projects in the area.
