Information for passengers travelling to and from Bangkok
Due to the occupation of the international airport in Bangkok, the airport was temporarily closed at 21.00 h local time on 25th November. Currently it is not possible to operate flights to and from Bangkok. The flights operated by Air Berlin’s subsidiary LTU have been cancelled until 29th November inclusive.
The flights scheduled to take off today from Berlin-Tegel and Düsseldorf have also been cancelled.
Air Berlin will be flying two empty aircraft to Utapao (south of Pattaya) to bring the passengers originally booked on the flights from Bangkok back to Germany from there. The LTU flight to Berlin is due to take off from Utapao at 13.30 h local time on 29.11. ; the LTU flight to Düsseldorf is due to take off at 17.30 h local time, also from Utapao.
Air Berlin will lay on buses to take passengers from Bangkok to Utapao.
Air Berlin is looking after the passengers affected by this event locally and is keeping them informed of any further developments.
In addition Air Berlin would like to ask all passengers in Bangkok to contact Air Berlin by telephoning 001 800 12 0666375 toll-free (from Thailand).
Air Berlin is keeping a close watch on the situation in Thailand and is offering passengers due to travel to and from Bangkok its full support.
We will keep you updated here about the situation at Bangkok airport.
We would advise passengers currently in Bangkok to avoid travelling to the airport for the time being.
Direct flights to Phuket are still operating as normal.
