The Oriental Kwai Resort

The Oriental Kwai Resort is located upon the banks of the famous River Kwai, just 15 minutes away from the centre of Kanchanaburi town and 140 km. from Bangkok.
The Oriental Kwai Resort is a small and peaceful resort with 10 cottages that are spread throughout a teakforest and a tropical garden. This makes the Oriental Kwai Resort an ideal retreat for nature lovers and people who want to enjoy the beauty of Thailand. Some cottages have a magnificent view over the River Kwai, others look out over our garden.
The resort is designed in a tropical style and has all the modern facilities of today. We spent extra attention to the finer details of decoration and facilities, ensuring that your stay is comfortable and memorable.

HOW TO FIND US...

By Minivan
Nearby the Royal Hotel is a busstand for public minivans to Ladya where our resort is located. If you stand in front of the hotel walk to the left for a couple of hundred meters, the busstand is opposit the 'Thai lottery building'. You can buy a ticket on the street, there's somebody behind a table selling tickets. These minivans leave every hour when at least 5 passengers are seated. Ask for the minivan to Ladya, Oriental Kwai Resort or OK-Resort and it will take you to our resort (cost 140 Bath p.p., if you have a lot of luggage you have to pay for one seat extra sometimes).

By bus
Airconditioned busses leave every 15 minutes from 5am till 7pm from Bangkok southern bus station. It takes about 2,5 hours to reach Kanchanaburi. When you arrive at the bus station in Kanchanaburi just give us a call and we'll pick you up for free (034-588168).

By private minivan or taxi
It is also possible to rent a private minivan with a driver. You can rent the minivan yourself at the airport or let us know in advance and we will arrange one for you.The costs range from 2500 Bath per day for the minivan exluding the fuel. It is most efficient to have bus completed, that means 8 passengers. For just 1 or 2 it is quite expensive. You can also take a regular taxi meter and make a price (±1500-2500 Bath is normal for a drive to Kanchanaburi).

By train
Ordinairy trains leave Thonburi (Bangkok Noi) train station twice a day. You can find more information at http://www.railway.co.th/. Travelling by train takes more time than by bus, late arrivals are not unusual but the scenery is much more interesting. When you arrive at Kanchanaburi train station just give a call and we'll pick you up for free (034-588168).
